Email #1

Subject line: Story about [companyName]

Hey [firstName],

Ugi here from [Name of the pod].

[Personalized one-line icebreaker - might be something like: I love how you folks at X treat your employees],

I would love to make a story about you and your company.

Would you like to come to my pod to discuss [Personalized Topic - it should be relevant to the Icebreaker]?

Why this sequence works?

There are few interesting things here. Let's break them down.

  • The subject line - let's agree on this, if you get an email like this, it would DEFINITELY peak your interest, right? Of course you'll open the email
  • The premise of this email - Did you notice why this email is better than 99.99% of all cold emails that get sent each day? It's easy - sender is not getting anything out of this. The only person who benefits its the receiver. It's HE who would be featured. It's HIS company that will be seen by 1000-3000 people.
  • Honesty - If you don't get a reply on the first email, the second one breaks the game, because being honest with your guests. You agree that your pod is new, but also give them a value in return - massive distribution and video clips they can use personally.
  • FOMO breakup email - The third (and last) email is quick and to the point. If you're not interested, that's okay. But if you are, better react fast because I'm fully booked. At this moment he thinks: "If he's fully booked, then there's something in this. Perhaps I should be the part of the crowd"
