Let's break it down

In this workflow automation, I will show you how to get tons of high-quality ecommerce leads in 4 easy steps.

Why do you need this?

Well, you sell your lead generation services to B2B companies. And, if you followed our niche-picking guide, you’ll probably work with agencies.

Many agencies are selling their marketing services to ecommerce companies - hence, you need to know how to find high-quality ecommerce leads effectively.

So, let’s get started.

Step #1 - Identify ecommerce websites

The good news is that almost all ecommerce websites use specific platforms for their website hosting.

In most cases, that’s either Shopify, BigCommerce, or WooCommerce (for WordPress).

You can find websites running on these specific platforms in two ways:

You can either use BuiltWith or Store Leads.

BuiltWith lets you search websites with any technology you choose, while Store Leads is a database of all websites running on the three platforms mentioned above.

For both of them, you can buy recurring subscriptions. Once you do that, filter the websites by the specific technology you want (i.e. - all websites running on Shopify):

  • To do that in BuiltWith, type down “Shopify” in the search bar and click on “Download List of All Websites Using Shopify.”:

  • Click on “Download Full Lead List,” and you’re ready to go.

Since BuiltWith is a little bit more expensive (the cheapest plan is $295/mo, to be exact, and with it, you can export only 2 reports a month), if you need some list one-off, you can always describe what you need to some Fiverr freelancers, and he’ll get back to you in a day with a .csv file for about $50 per report:

With Store Leads, it’s a little bit different.

Since Store Leads is a specific database of only ecommerce websites, it offers you a more robust filtering system.

For example, with Store Leads, you can search for specific e-commerce stores that run on Shopify, are located in the USA, have less than 50 employees, and are in the wellness and fitness industry.

This means that Store Leads will probably give you better data + it’s more cost-effective. The plan that supports .csv export starts at $250/mo.

So, now you have the list of ecommerce websites. What do we do now?

Step #2 - Finding contact information and decision maker

For this step, you’ll need to have a free Apollo account.

  • Copy the list of all website URLs from your CSV file
  • Open your Apollo account > Go to Search > Click on “People.”

  • Click on “Companies” on the left side > and then “Include/Exclude list of companies.”

  • In the “Include list of companies” box, paste the URLs of your websites, one by line.
  • Click on “Save and Search.”
  • To get more relevant decision-makers, filter down decision makers that make sense for you. For example, if your client sells marketing services, you should probably be looking for CMOs, Marketing Directors, Head of Ecommerce Marketing, and other similar titles.

Type down the titles you’re interested in in the “Job Titles” section:

Now, we have a list of decision-makers. But we don’t have their contact information.

How can we obtain that?

Well, there are two ways:

  • But Apollo.io subscription (if you need ongoing lists)
  • Or, buy a one-off list from Export Apollo

First option is pretty obvious. But for the second option, go to the Export Apollo website, paste the URL of your Apollo search, and fill out your payment information.

You’ll get a list in about 10 minutes delivered to your email. The price is pretty cost-effective:

Step #3 - 2-step Lead Verification

You don’t want to screw up your deliverability and domain health score with bad and invalid emails.

This is the part where we validate our leads.

  • Go to MillionVerifier
  • Create an account
  • Click on “Buy Credits” on the left side:

  • Buy as many credits as you want for a one-off price:

  • Click on “Email Verification” on the left side
  • And upload the CSV file you’ve got from the ExportApollo
  • In about 20-30 minutes, MillionVerifier will get back to you with a list of valid, invalid, and catch all emails.

Feel free to use the valid emails in your outreach campaign, and avoid using invalid or catch all emails.

However, there’s a way we can verify the catch all emails as well. There’s no reason to dump in the trash 50% of catch all emails when they’re valid.

  • So now, go to Scrubby
  • Create an account
  • Pick either the monthly or “pay-as-you-go” subscription
  • Upload your list of catch all emails
  • And wait for the magic to happen

After you do all of this, you’ll have a list of 10k+ validated ecommerce leads, 100% ready for the outreach,

All of this for less than $100 and 1 hour.

Good closing!
