How this workflow automation works?

X (Twitter)

We're using it to find relevant prospects

Scrapybird

To scrape twitter followers and find their emails

Expandi

Using it to create automated LinkedIn sequence

Let's break it down

X (Twitter) recently made some changes, and it’s not that easy to scrape the list of someone’s followers.

Fortunately, there’s a safe way to bypass those restrictions.

In this workflow automation article, I will show you how to scrape X profiles and find their emails and LinkedIn profiles (for outreach).

The reason why this tactic works is because we’ll scrape a group of people that’s already interested in your niche.

Not to mention that this tactic also features one hell-of-a-badass icebreaker we’ll see later.

So, let’s go through it step-by-step.

#1 - Find relevant X (Twitter) accounts to scrape

  • Write down all of your competitors and find them on X. Choose only active accounts and post regularly. This growth hack won’t work if their audience isn’t warmed up and active.

  • You can also find some influencers in the niche if your competitors are inactive. In other words, every account with your target audience as followers can work.

Side note: Don’t go after top influencers like Grant Cardone, Gary Vee, Joe Rogan, etc. Although they might talk about topics similar to yours, their audience is too broad, and most followers won’t be relevant to you.

If you don’t know the influencers in your space, go to the search bar and type down the most relevant keyword. Best influencers will usually have that keyword in their bio and tagline:

Once you have the list of companies and influencers, go through their profile to find the most viral and engaged tweets.

On the bright side, X now shows the number of views besides each post, so finding the tweets with the most views won’t be too hard:

If you want to do it easier and faster, you can start a free trial or buy a subscription to TweetHunter and install their Chrome extension.

It will allow you to quickly filter someone’s posts and see the posts that got the most views and engagement.

Just go to someone’s profile > Choose “Highlights” > and filter either by “All time” or “Recent”. Like this:

The idea is to find the most relevant tweets that went viral. For example, Stefan’s tweet on top is the most viral post he ever had, but that post talks about Tim Cook.

That’s not entirely relevant to us.

On the other hand, the post below talks about LinkedIn, and since we’re the Lead Generation media company, that post is highly relevant to us.

If it’s easier for you, you can create a sheet and put the URLs of the 5 best posts for each profile you have there.

#2 - Scrape everyone who engaged with tweets & find their emails

To do this, we’ll use Scrapybird.

  • Sign up for Scrapybird
  • Go to the “Scrape Tweet Likes” section:

  • Go back to the tweet you want to scrape and copy the ID part of the URL:

  • Go back to the Scrapybird, paste the ID, and click “Start”:

Scrapybird will need around 20-30 minutes to scrape each tweet. Perfect time for some squats and push-ups.

Now, our Scrapybird is done with scraping:

  • Download the CSV file

Now, you can do the email outreach. If you want to do the LinkedIn outreach or create an omni-channel sequence (email & LinkedIn) - which we suggest, then read further.

#3 - Find LinkedIn profiles based on their email addresses

Once you download the CSV, we’ll use a special formula we created that allows us to find LinkedIn profiles from someone’s email address automatically.

In a few seconds, you’ll have people’s LinkedIn profiles:

Here’s the step-by-step process on how to install this formula.

If you follow these steps, in 10 seconds, you’ll get the results. But remember that the formula won’t find LinkedIn profiles for all people.

#4 - Let’s reach out!

  • Download the sheet as a CSV file:

  • Go to Expandi.io, the safest LinkedIn outreach software on the market.

  • Create the campaign. Go to Campaigns > Create Campaign > and choose Campaign builder to do this.

  • We need to segment only new connections (2nd & 3rd degree LinkedIn contacts).

This is important because with 1st-degree connections, we don’t need to send connection requests (we’re connected already); we just need to send them a message.

But with 2nd & 3rd degree connections, we need to send them the connection request.

You can use this connection request message that’s relevant to all of your prospects:

Hey {first_name}! I Saw you liked {person}’s tweet about {topic}.

I found it extremely valuable!

Let’s connect.

Please remember that if you use this connection request, you must scrape people from posts published recently, like in the previous 1-2 days max! Otherwise, people can easily forget what they liked or commented on. So it needs to be relevant and almost real-time.

Anyway, now we need to add a few more follow-ups. Ensure you check whether this person accepted your connection request because if you didn’t, you won’t be able to send follow-ups.

Once they accept your connection request, you can start the sales conversation. Like this:

Hey {first_name}, are you currently solving {the relevant problem to the tweet}?

You can adapt the flow to your needs, but overall, everything is straightforward.

We’ve used this approach numerous times, and the results are amazing:

And that’s it, hustler! Now, let’s close some deals! ;)
